How to convert your custom forms from 2.0 to 3.0
Now that our brand new forms engine has been released, it is time to start converting your forms to take advantage of new benefits like shareable fields, custom calculations, and intuitive formatting for easy editing!
Keep in mind that we will be sunsetting Forms 2.0 down the road, so all crucial forms must be converted to Forms 3.0 over the coming months. However not all forms need to be converted. Most organizations have many forms in Forms 2.0 that are never used. Only convert the forms your team uses on a regular basis.
In order to convert 2.0 forms to 3.0, follow these steps:
- Open two Alleva tabs, one in a regular Chrome window, and one in an "incognito" window.
Learn how to open an incognito window here. - In one window navigate to Forms Manager 2.0, and in the other window navigate to Forms 3.0.
- In 2.0, open the form you would like to convert. In 3.0, select "Create a Form" and enter the same name as your old 2.0 form but add "3.0" at the end of the name for clarity purpose.
- In 2.0, preview your old form by selecting "Preview", and copy the contents of the entire form.
- Paste the copied content into your new 3.0 form. Fix formatting for the written text with our easy formatting options (font, position, size, color, etc.). Learn more about text formatting here.
- Add in fields to match the fields in your original 2.0 form. Use new and improved fields like calculations (learn how to create calculations here), standard and shared fields, file upload, and improvements to pre-existing fields like date, signature, and time.
- Publish the form when it's complete, and it will be accessible throughout the EMR, wherever you use forms. Learn more about where forms can be used in Alleva here.
