Alleva Billing Overview

Introduction to our RCM Billing platform.

We're so excited to introduce Alleva Billing, our new RCM solution! Alleva Billing works hand-in-hand with our EMR, so client info and services seamlessly turn into claims ready for our clearinghouse partner, Waystar. Plus, payment data from ERAs comes right back to Billing, making payment tracking a breeze.

The Alleva Billing Homepage contains high-level data for outstanding balances, items for review, and statistics:


The Billing Platform has various features and functions separated in tabs. Click on each item to access a help article on that topic:

  • Service Management - All encounters/services provided in the EMR will flow here when they are submitted through the Encounter Transmission Table. These services can then be reviewed and submitted to Waystar, our clearinghouse partner.

  • Claim Management - Once services are submitted, claims are created automatically on the claim management tab. Statuses will come back from Waystar indicating if the claim was accepted, rejected, and the reason for the rejection. You can then make edits to claims and re-submit from here.
     
  • Payment Management - There are several tabs in payment management:
    • Card Transactions - If you have our add-on integration with Nexio, you can process patient credit card transactions here.
    • Patient Payments - Here you can document patient payments, adjustments to balances, apply credits from overpayments, or refund credits.
    • Insurance Transactions - Here you can manually document a payment from insurance, or an insurance transaction can be generated here through an ERA. This is also where you can document insurance refunds.
    • Payment Plans - Here you can create and manage patient payment plans based on a variety of parameters that you set.
    • ERA - This is where electronic remittance advice documents will flow from Waystar with all information from the payer on which claims they are paying for and what amounts. Easily generate insurance payments from here that will pre-fill all relevant information into the insurance transactions tab.

  • Patient Accounts - These function like the "charts" of Alleva Billing. Here you can view all relevant client data flowing directly from the EMR. This includes demographics, diagnosis, insurance, services, and more information that is added on the billing platform like guarantor, transactions, payment plans, statements, account notes, and unapplied credit.

  • Statements - Here you can create personalized statements for your clients that have your company contact information and logo.

  • Settings - The settings tab allows you to configure your billing platform to meet your organization's needs. Configure provider information, facilities, dropdowns, insurance companies, statements, and billing users.
