Enhancements


PRN Frequency Updates to Med Adminstration: PRN frequencies "Q1-6, 8, 12 & 24" will now provide an error message when the administration is prior to the next allowable time which is First/Last Administration Time plus Frequency. The error message will provide the time when administration can occur again.

If the setting "PRN Frequency Override" is selected in Medication Settings, the user will be provided an option to override the error message with a reason to continue administration. If the setting "Administration Window" is set, the system will allow for administration to happen prior to the next allowable administration time.

Update to Medication Settings>Orderset: Based on user feedback, we have moved what was originally called "Protocol" into the workflow of setting up an "Orderset" within Medication Settings. By doing this, the system now allows for Frequency and Scheduling to be defined which allows for the provider to have a one-step process when ordering. Please see video below for an overview of the new functionality.

"Use Protocol" within Medication Settings: To use the above functionality, system admins will need to update their current ordersets to include Frequency and/or Scheduling. Once all ordersets have been updated, "Use Protocol" can be deselected and the system will remove the "+current meds protocol" option from ordering screens. The use of "Protocol" will be removed permanently on 12/31/2023.


Update to Clinical Terms -> Medical: “All Active Meds”, “Active Meds/No PRN”, and “Active PRN Meds” have all been updated to not include protocol medications that have been "completed".
